Jamie McLendon
With more than 22 years of experience, I offer clear, effective and professional solutions to your design needs.
I work with clients to focus on brand identity and to streamline designs to create clean, crisp final products.
Though I was only a child when the Esso oil company changed its name, and therefore, its logo, I remember being very upset by the change. I tried to hang on to anything that had the Esso logo on it, as I thought it was
a much better logotype than Exxon. I found myself gravitating to identities that spoke more to me through
their clear vision and fluidity, as opposed to stodgy revisions. Clearly, my design aesthetic was established
at an early age.
When I'm not critiquing corporate logos or disparaging font choices, I also enjoy writing and playing music. I've played guitar and bass for the last thirty years in various bands, and I've released two albums of original songs with my own long-running group, Dom Casual (yes, naming my band after a typeface was intentional). My current musical
outlet is holding down the bass position for Pittsboro-based surf combo El Mirage.
